The USCIS is an agency of national government. They are one of the steps to becoming a united states citizen. The USCIS also interviews aliens and immigrants to make sure that they meet the necessary requirements and is of good moral character before becoming a U.S citizen. Along with the interview the aliens and immigrants must take a citizenship exam about reading, writing, and speaking english and about basic facts of u.s history. The USCIS makes the dacision on you becoming a citizen. After the exam the USCIS makes their decision on your citizenship and give you the last step into becoming a united staes citizen which is attending a ceremony and pledging an oath of allegiance.
The USCIS is basically the part of the government who decides on who can or cannot become a citizen of the united states.

During the 5 years, many immigrants prepare for citizenship. If they're 18 years or old and lived in the U.S for at least 3 months in the state where they seek naturalization, they may file an application for citizenship.they citizenship exam consist about knowing reading, writing and speaking English and facts about U.S. history, then the USCIS makes a desicion. If the apllication is aproved the final step is to attend the ceremony and pleging an oath of alliance. The alien has to swear loyalty to his country.
